Giant Vinyl Record Birthday Cake
A unique birthday cake to celebrate Lisa Tchenguiz's 60th Birthday. It's about 2 meters in diameter and weighs in almost 60 Kgs.
The idea is to have a cake in the shape of giant vinyl records that looks so realistic, it looks like a prop.
The cake will be covered with nearly 2 cm transparent acrylics and to be placed on top of a rotating platform for the dancer to perform on top!
To decorate this gigantic cake I'm using around 9 kgs of buttercream and 6 kgs of chocolate ganache. I also used around 20kgs of fondant/sugar paste to cover it.
Transporting the cake is no easy feat as it's so wide and it can't be placed vertically. Luckily the venue has enough stage door clearance and requires 4 people to lift and securely place it at the center stage.
The party was held a the Roundhouse near Camden town a unique historic venue that gives a 360-degree party atmosphere.
